About Us
Giving World Online is a not for profit organisation whose aim is to divert the world’s surplus resources to meet the needs of the world’s poorest people –Waste to Want.
Did you know that £1.37 billion worth of goods are wasted by UK businesses each year e.g. end of line stock, samples, odd batches, last season’s ranges, office furniture, IT equipment etc?
Yet, 12 million people in low income jobs struggle to make ends meet and 1/3 of all UK children go without one of the things they really need like toys, adequate clothing or 3 meals a day.
That’s why Giving World Online was created by Konnect9, a registered charity since 2001.
Giving World Online builds on Konnect9's impressive record of redistributing almost £1.5 million worth of business surplus to 150,000 people in need over the last seven years, making a huge contribution to the environment by preventing 200 tonnes going to landfill, including:
- Clothing and blankets to the homeless
- Literacy aids for disadvantaged children
- Access to IT, developing skills for disaffected young people
- Home comforts for those fleeing domestic violence
- ‘Dignity’ packs to isolated hospital patients
- Overseas, the support has included the provision of medical aid and equipment, saving lives
