Rama and Sujata Bhalla were Highly Commended in the New Initiatives Category of the 2010 Beacon Fellowship awards, for setting up Giving World Online. The awards celebrate exceptional contributions to charitable causes or to organisations that benefit the public. Giving World Online founders Rama and Sujata Bhalla recently received a Level 2 Better Net award from UnLtd in recognition of their innovative www.givingworldonline.com charity model. The website connects charities and community groups to businesses with new surplus stock.

Konnect9/Giving World Online walked away with the Best Environmental Contribution by a not for profit organisation at the 2009 Leicester Green Life Awards and took second place in the overall Green Life Environment Award.
The Leicestershire Women of Achievement Awards 2009 were held at the Walkers Stadium where sisters Rama and Sujata Bhalla were handed the Leicestershire Woman in the Community accolade after founding charity Konnect9 in 2001.
The sisters also won the first ever Leicestershire First Leadership Award.
