case studies > ‘Amazed’ charity worker praises Giving World Online
Judith Spence of Four Twelve Ministries was amazed when she found out about Giving World Online. “We only heard about Giving World Online a couple of weeks ago. It was very easy to sign up and the system is extremely efficient. We have been amazed at the variety of goods available.”
Four Twelve Ministries in Leicestershire operates 2 projects: Carpenter's Arms and Joseph's Storehouse.
The Carpenters Arm’s is a hostel for men challenged by drug and alcohol addiction which often results in a breakdown in relationships, homelessness, financial hardship, and offending. We offer a programme of help and support and life skills training in preparation for independent living and employment.
Joseph's Storehouse provides food parcels and essential household items to large numbers of homeless people and needy families. Each week as many as 300 food parcels are given out.
Judith continues, “Receiving these donated goods allows us to utilise our finances more efficiently and for families it means that they can use the money they would have spent on these items for other essentials. Thank you to all your staff and volunteers!”
One such beneficiary is Gavin, a homeless man aged 30. Now, thanks to the support of Four Twelve Ministries he is living independently and has received a computer through Giving World Online to enable him to develop his own business.
“I write to you today using the computer graciously provided by your good selves. I have been using this PC to put together my business plan for starting my own clothing label and it has been a treat to be able to do this in the peace and quiet of my own space, away from any distractions. Now with my business plan in order I am moving into the next exciting phase of re-starting my life.
"My thanks go out to you in being a contributing helper in The Carpenters Arms good cause," Gavin
