Managers at the Brentford based firm got in touch with Giving World Online after they realised they had some 246 pallets of cleaning materials such as household cleaner, stain remover, antibacterial wipes, which may have otherwise been destined for a landfill site.
Nigel Olsen, a manager of Clorox products said “It’s wonderful to be able to support such a good cause and to hear that our cleaning products have gone to such deserving homes.
“Our ethos and corporate philosophy is to always do the right thing and this is another example where we are delighted to be involved and make a positive difference to people’s lives.”
Thousands of Leicestershire people benefited through local charities, including The Goldhill Play Association, the Contact Project, Kids to Entertain You, Shuttlewood Clarke Foundation, Leicester Educational Trust, Storehouse, the Emerald Centre and Four Twelve Ministries.
In Lincolnshire, the Grimsby-based Rock Foundation and Nunsthorpe and Bradley Park Community Trust helped in distributing the cleaning products to thousands of low income families in the area.
Pam Hodge, of the Rock Foundation, said: "We are absolutely thrilled with the service we have received from Giving World Online.
‘’We work in an extremely deprived area, and our work with learning disabled adults, along with our connections with a number of local community groups, placed us in an ideal position to help distribute these essential items to some of the neediest people in the UK.
“It has been an honour to be part of this venture and we have received excellent feedback from many of the recipients, not only were they extremely grateful for the products, many were highly impressed with the quality too.
“At Rock Foundation we're very much community focussed and we are so thankful to Giving World Online for giving us a great opportunity to bless our local area in such a unique and practical way."
