Q. Can I use the goods for fundraising?
A. No, it is part of our terms and conditions that all goods received are to be directly passed onto benefit your users or to be used in your organisation. So we request that you do not sell goods on, even if it is to raise funds.
Q. We are not a registered charity – can we still register to receive goods?
A. Yes you can as long as you are a bona fide community project and have a constitution and aims and objectives.
Q. We can’t collect the goods, can they be delivered?
A. We have listed recommended carriers when you express an interest but you will need to arrange collection and cover the costs.
Q. The items we need are not listed, how can I find out if they become available so we don’t miss out?
A. You can register to receive an email alert when such goods are available. Your request will also be displayed on our ‘request’ page. Sometimes businesses check to see what charities need.
Q. My request for goods was turned down-why?
A. All businesses are given the opportunity to approve or decline requests. The main reason for this is that some businesses like to focus their giving to meet a specific area of support: e.g. children’s projects or projects helping the elderly. It doesn’t mean that they didn’t like your project; it probably means that you don’t fit in with their current remit for support.
You can help the business make an informed decision by being very clear when completing the ‘What will you be using this donation for?’ box.
Q. Is there a limit to the amount of goods we can access in a year?
A. No but if items are limited and in high demand, and your project has already received a number of goods, we might ask you to wait until other projects have been given the chance to access the goods.
Please remember - you should request only what you need, when you need it. We ask that you do not stockpile.
