Last month we asked you to tweet for us, and many of you did. The aim was to have more companies aware that they can donate their surplus stock, which is a natural product of the business cycle. Every year £2 billion worth of brand new goods could be redirected away from landfill and into the home of the most vulnerable in our society.

Hence the request to you to micro-blog for us.

Such a simple thing, and you did us proud. Your tweets reached 21,824 people, resulting in an uplift in followers of 5%. Bottom line, we had more interest from charities for the goods your businesses are donating. Thank you.

Such a small thing to do, however it really did help. So thank you. Keep it up if you can.

I am registered to donate my company's surplus stock to www.givingworldonline.com They take surplus or end of line stock and distribute it to the 13.4 million people living in poverty in the UK. Please can you ask whoever in your company looks after stock control or facilities management to sign up. Last year Giving World saved:

450,245 items from landfill
276,083 people living in poverty across the UK reused the items
1,178.3 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions
