Bulgarian Ambassador visits Giving World Online

His Excellency Mr. Lyubomir Kyuchukov, newly appointed Bulgarian Ambassador to the UK, honoured us with a visit on Monday 14th December.

It was the Ambassador's first official visit outside of the Capital and he met with staff, volunteers and guests to learn more about our work.

Since 2003 we have distributed surplus goods donated by businesses to those in need in Bulgaria including PC’s to disabled, orphaned and poor Roma (gypsy) children; medical equipment and disposables have been donated to hospitals and clinics and toys, books and paper have benefited orphanages and kindergartens.

His Excellency said: “I was delighted to be able to meet with the charity's representatives and learn more about their work. I think it is wonderful that they have helped our poorer communities in Bulgaria. I am very impressed with their idea of working with businesses to take surplus goods that would otherwise be sent to landfill and instead distributing them to benefit people in need. It is a simple but very important idea that can help so many people.”

The Ambassador was accompanied by Ms Desislava Naydenova, Third Secretary for Press and Cultural Affairs.
