How it works

  • Any organisation can register to donate their surplus goods i.e. small or large businesses, local authorities, Government agencies, universities, schools, colleges, hospitals, doctor’s surgeries, charities etc.
  • All donations should be new and unused. The only exceptions are furniture, IT and medical equipment (i.e. multiple use equipment not invasive single-use equipment such as needles etc).
  • If you are donating used furniture, IT or medical equipment, please ensure the items are in good working order.
  • For examples of what you can donate please view the database of what is currently available and also view the Charity Requests page.
  • If you are unsure about whether your surplus could be useful to someone or if you wish to donate your goods anonymously, please contact us.

register
  • Registered charities or voluntary and community group helping people in need can register to access business surplus.
  • Security checks are carried out to verify charitable status as well as ongoing monitoring and validation of charity requests..
  • Charities search the database and select the goods they need.
  • See How to Donate Goods for detailed instructions of how the process works.
  • The charity must arrange collection and pay transport costs.
  • Charities must not sell the goods or use them for fundraising events/auctions. Your goods will only be used for the charity's own use or for distribution to people in need.
  • The charity must not contact you again once the transaction has been completed.
  • Giving World Online will never rent or sell your personal information to third parties. To learn more, read our privacy policy.
