Dominique from Cameroon and Colette from the Democratic Republic of Congo, are both destitute asylum seekers who attend monthly sessions at New North London Synagogue Destitute Asylum Seeker drop in.

Both fled persecution in their home countries and are terrified of being forcibly returned there. They are not entitled to any state support and are not allowed to work so they survive on the kindness of friends. Both were delighted to receive brand new items donated by Giving World Online.

"Many of the clothes we receive from charities are secondhand. While we really appreciate these donations it is lovely to get things to wear that are brand new," said Colette.

"It is very hard to keep warm at this time of year and having a brand new thermal top and some soft warm socks will make a real difference," said Dominque. "Thanks very much to all at Giving World Online and to the companies who donated the items."
