This week was a very special week - no, I'm not talking about opening my advent calendar – I attended the launch of.www.givingworldonline.com. I was so impressed that I have since joined the team as the official Giving World Online Blogger.

A quick introduction: my name is Gina, I'm 22 and apart from the occasional man with a rattling can in the high street, I've never really paid much attention to charities.

I have sympathy and support don't get me wrong, but previously the only way I could get involved was to put my hand in my pocket, until I attended the fantastic Giving World Online launch on Tuesday.

I was struck by the achievements, so few of us waste so much and the money involved is amazing. But along came Konnect9, with a vision so simple it must be a crime that no-one had thought about it before.

At this moment on the front page of the website I see that Ladies vest tops have been donated, not really that exciting but when you think that most women only wear a third of what's in their wardrobe, those vest tops add up. And before you know it a whole wardrobe can be sent to those in need.

The launch event was ‘buzzing’ with excitement and possibilities.

This is an incredible idea and over the coming months I'll be bringing you news and case studies of how your input is helping people across the nation.

So keep checking www.givingworldonline.com - there's no tin rattling here!
